Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

I had horrible hip pain and severe osteoarthritis in both hips. Because of this I was in constant pain day and night. I came to Dr. Sassoon for a hip replacement.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

When I first met Dr. Sassoon he was so warm, personable, and human. I immediately trusted him. Even though he may be young, he is very professional-- I had no worries about his abilities and judgement. He is so observant: he doesn't look at you like a patient, but as a person. This is something so rare in a medical professional.
After my first surgery, my hip had recovered very rapidly but my other hip was still giving me a lot of pain. Dr. Sassoon offered to do my second surgery, even though it could've been hard to do so soon, because he recognized how much pain I was in. The second surgery was just as successful as the first, and I had a healthy recovery. Each time I went for a follow-up appointment I continued to feel his warmth and care. He just cares about people: in his own words he told me, "I like to help people feel better."

What can you do now that you could not do before surgery? Have you been able to return to your hobbies or sports at the same level as pre-injury or at an even higher level?

Dr. Sassoon brought me back to life. I can now be active, and I know longer have chronic, 24 hour pain. Before I felt like my two legs were glued together. I couldn't even pick up something off of the floor. I now am able to go to the swimming pool, and am back to work.

What advice would you like to share with a patient with a condition such as yours who is considering surgery?

Get the Amazon "hip and knee kit". It is necessary for closing car doors, picking up things off the ground, and most things that are made difficult with limited mobility!

Please share any additional comments!

Thank you so much Dr. Sassoon!
