Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

Over five years ago I slipped down the stairs in my home, holding on to the railimg with my right arm while bracing the fall with my left. Over time both of my shoulders became sensitive and unstable, semi-dislocating when least expected.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

Dr. Warme and his team treated me as a person, not a problem. I always knew they were listening to my concerns and that I was consantly aware of my options for optimum health and recovery.

What advice would you like to share with a patient with a condition such as yours who is considering surgery?

I would highly recommend having someone who will support you through the long recovery. Eat only the calories you will use being less active. Give yourself permission to heal with grace in being kind to your mind.

Please share any additional comments!

I recieved two open shoulder surgeries for my injury, as there was nerve damage and the issue could not be resolved with physical therapy. I had a "split pectoral teansfer" on my right shoulder in August 2015, and the left shoulder in February 2016. Since my recovery I have freedom from pain, to participate in activies and adventures I never thought possible. I recently traveled solo to Costa Rica on a photpgraphy tour. I am "Embracing" my future.
