Doctor: Winston J. Warme, MD

Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

I first saw Dr. Warme and Jill Eggers-Knight for left rotator cuff repair, had it repaired once before but had reinjured it after continuing delivering freight 10-14 hours aday, Dr. warme was able to repair it once again with some ongoing discomfort but definately more tolerable.
Then again this last November Dr. Warme did a clean out of my right elbow due to overuse and it is better than it has been in quite afew years, I can even eat again without lowering my head to my hand and can comb my hair with very little discomfort, and getting better every day.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

Dr. Warme and the whole team at UW seem to actually care about each and every person that come through their doors, you are treated with the utmost respect and compassion by everyone in reception right up to the operating room staff.
The follow up after surgery was surprising and very much appreciated after receiving a call at home from Dr. Warme the next morning at home to see how I was doing and if there was any concerns about my recovery.
Whenever I have seen Dr. Warme and Ms. Jill I am always greated with a warm smile and a hug, I feel like part of the UW family, Thank You.

What can you do now that you could not do before surgery? Have you been able to return to your hobbies or sports at the same level as pre-injury or at an even higher level?

Have not completely returned to pre surgery level but am well on my way, just need to realize that I am not 18 any more, work with more moderation and self imposed restrictions to try and let my body last the rest of my life so I can enjoy some fun times.

What advice would you like to share with a patient with a condition such as yours who is considering surgery?

Talk to the doctors with respect and they will treat you with respect in return, after all we are all human.
Follow their recommendations as far as rehab goes and you will get the best results from their expertise and hard work.

Please share any additional comments!

Just had my 3 month follow up with Dr. Warme and all done with my elbow recovery except for continueing with stretching and movement to keep the range of motion active.
Have to say that I will miss seeing Dr. Warme and Ms. Jill, strange to say but I feel like they will always be a part of my life.
Thank you for your gift to many.
