Doctor: Winston J. Warme, MD
Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.
This is my second rotator cuff and second biceps tenodesis
What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?
This is my second shoulder and biceps operation performed by Dr. Warme. My first was last summer and in all honesty I can't tell I had surgery. It is 100%. The appearance of the biceps muscle is normal. I have known others who have had surgery done elsewhere and have not had the results I have. This latest one seems to be progressing along the same lines. I will be back to work in 8 weeks. Woo! Hoo! I will also give Dr Warme and his team extra points. I asked if they could miss the large tattoo on my left shoulder and to my surprise they did with no complication to the surgery. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can you do now that you could not do before surgery? Have you been able to return to your hobbies or sports at the same level as pre-injury or at an even higher level?
With my right shoulder which is fully healed I can do anything anyone else can do with an uninjured shoulder. No kidding! I'm 58 and I can keep up with the 30 year old at work. My left shoulder is on the same track for recovery. Looking forward to getting back on the Harley while summer is still here.
What advice would you like to share with a patient with a condition such as yours who is considering surgery?
While no two operations or conditions are the same I would trust Dr. Warme and his team to get you the best outcome possible. They are caring people who want to get you back doing what you enjoy. Remember: you the patient are part of the team too. Let them do their job and then you have to LISTEN TO AND FOLLOW the directions they give you. While nothing like this is pain free it is still very doable. I should know 'cause I'm a wimp. Trust them, they are awesome at what they do!
Please share any additional comments!
Besides all of the technical stuff they are just nice people. :) No kidding!
