Doctor: Winston J. Warme, MD
Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.
Pain in the collarbone/sternum area, tingling/pain down right arm. Lack of range of motion. Dislocation that I was able to reduce on my own on daily basis.
Bone spur on sternum dislocating collarbone at joint.
What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?
The professional approach, yet still warm and understanding. Organized and confident.
What can you do now that you could not do before surgery? Have you been able to return to your hobbies or sports at the same level as pre-injury or at an even higher level?
To work and not be in pain. Yes, to a point, I throw like a girl now, but at least I can throw.
What advice would you like to share with a patient with a condition such as yours who is considering surgery?
Do not push yourself too much post-recovery. I felt wonderful and tore my shoulder bowling too many games in one night. The tear is healing nicely, no more bowling. But I can saddle my horse again and that is more important.
