Patient Profile

Profession: Retired
Hobbies: Walking
Doctor: Winston J. Warme, MD and Paul Manner, MD

Briefly describe your symptoms and the medical condition that brought you to see the doctor.

Restricted range of motion. Severe discomfort at times. Hip replacement in December of 2007. Dr. Paul Manner. After such a positive experience with the UofW Orthopedic department returning for an examination and consultation regarding my shoulder was guaranteed.

What one or two things stand out to you about your experience with your doctor and their team?

Dr. Warme has a gift that goes beyond his surgical skills. Totally invested in me and my best course of action is what I remember most. When he spoke to my wife after the operation she was impressed with his easy going manner and approachability. I have to mention the great smile. I also have to believe that any surgical team working with Dr. Warme would be greatly motivated.

What can you do now that you could not do before surgery? Have you been able to return to your hobbies or sports at the same level as pre-injury or at an even higher level?

I can do everything. Range of motion and strength is normal if not better.

What advice would you like to share with a patient with a condition such as yours who is considering surgery?

Twice the UofW Orthopedic Staff has been stellar in my treatment and recovery. I have since recommended them to others.

Please share any additional comments!

Sincere thank you once again to Dr. Paul Manner and Dr. Winston J. Warme.
